On Friday 21st June Barr Beacon School made the relatively short journey to take part in the annual Sports Day at Alexander Stadium. The day commenced with all participants taking to the track to run a lap to help them soak up the atmosphere and help prepare them for the events that lay ahead.
Throughout the day students displayed remarkable skill and determination in every track and field event ranging from the fast pace of the 400m to the explosiveness of the shot put with pupils working tirelessly to contribute to the ongoing house points total.
However, what made the day truly special was the unwavering camaraderie and sportsmanship on shown across all participants and Houses alike, as all pupils were cheered during their events regardless of the colour of their bib.
Special mentions must go to the following pupils who went above and beyond what was expected of them as they were able to go the extra mile and win several events throughout the day showing their dedication and resilience to do all they could to secure the house cup.
- V.Sandhar (200m, Long Jump, High Jump)
- A.Foster (100m, 200m, 400m)
- D.Trow (400m, 800m, 1500m)
- R.Child (400m, 800m, 1500m)

By the time Sports Day had come to an end it was clear that it has been an unwavering success with Bredon being crowned the Sports Day Champions.
The success of Sports Day is a testament to the exceptional sportsmanship of each and every pupil that took part, either physically or within the stands. Each pupil and member of staff played a vital role in creating an unforgettable event. Roll on Sports Day 2025.
