As A Level Results Day approaches, we have included some final pieces of advice for Year 13 below.
We will be open to Year 13 students from 7.45am on Thursday 14th August 2025 but we will not be able to hand over your results until 8.00am. Nonetheless, please ensure you arrive ready to open your results at 8.00am. If you do need to use Clearing then the earlier you call up, the better your chances of securing a place.
The poster below explains Clearing, including what you need to do now to prepare.

Additionally you can join a TikTok live session from UCAS on Wednesday 13th August at 4.00pm for real-time advice and support.
A reminder of our advice:
- Don’t panic if you open your results and you haven’t met the grades for your chosen course. At 8.00am you can log into UCAS Track to see if you have been accepted or if you need to take any action through clearing. You may have been accepted or offered an alternative course even if you missed the conditions of your offer.
- If you are not in Clearing but you have changed your mind about a university then you can click the ‘Decline My Place’ button to self-release into clearing. Make sure you are certain as this cannot be undone. Call another university first to confirm if they will accept you through clearing.
- Don’t decline your place if you just want to change course but stay at the same university- call them up as the university may be able to sort this without the need for clearing.
- You can search for Clearing vacancies on the UCAS Course Search tool.
- You can also use Clearing Plus by clicking ‘View Matches’ in your UCAS Hub to see any suggested courses in Clearing that are similar to those you originally applied for.
Until then, try not to worry too much – we will be here to help you.
