GCSE Results 2025

We are incredibly proud to celebrate a superb set of GCSE and BTEC Key Stage 4 results achieved by our pupils this year. These outcomes are a direct reflection of the unwavering commitment, focus, and sheer determination of our students and staff.

In a year that has demanded resilience and tenacity, our pupils have risen to the challenge, consistently demonstrating a "no excuses" mindset and an unshakable drive to succeed. Their results are a powerful statement of what can be achieved when high expectations, hard work, and a culture of excellence come together.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to every student for their achievements and to our dedicated staff for their relentless effort, support, and belief in every young person. This success belongs to our entire school community — a community that never settles for less than the best.

Together, we continue to prove that ambition, belief, and determination can break barriers and deliver strong outcomes.  We wish all of our learners success as they embark onto the next stage of their journeys.

Celebrating A-Level Success

Barr Beacon School is proud to announce strong A-Level achievements from our Year 13 students, with results showing improvement across all key measures.

This summer, one in five grades awarded were at the highest levels of A–A*, and more than half of all grades achieved were A*–B. Students studying Applied General qualifications also excelled, with the average grade awarded at Distinction+.

Headteacher Mrs Hibbs said:
"We are incredibly proud of our students’ hard work, determination, and resilience. These results are a testament not only to their efforts, but also to the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of parents and carers. Among this year’s many successes, R Woodhall achieved an A* in English, an A in History and a Distinction* in Media Studies. M Singh earned an A* in Biology, an A in Chemistry and an A in Computer Science. A Singh secured a Distinction* in Business, an A* in Psychology and an A in Sociology. T Hunt achieved straight As in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, while J Doody earned Distinction* and Distinction in both Business and Sports Science alongside an A in Psychology. We look forward to seeing what all of our students go on to achieve as they take their next steps into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment."

Miss Clarke Assistant Headteacher for Sixth Form said:

"It has been a privilege to see our Year 13 students grow into confident, capable young adults over the past two years. Their results reflect countless hours of dedication and commitment, both inside and outside the classroom. Beyond their academic achievements, they have been role models for younger pupils, contributing to our school community in countless ways. I have no doubt they will continue to make a positive impact wherever life takes them next."

A Level Results Day Advice 2025

As A Level Results Day approaches, we have included some final pieces of advice for Year 13 below.

We will be open to Year 13 students from 7.45am on Thursday 14th August 2025 but we will not be able to hand over your results until 8.00am. Nonetheless, please ensure you arrive ready to open your results at 8.00am. If you do need to use Clearing then the earlier you call up, the better your chances of securing a place.

The poster below explains Clearing, including what you need to do now to prepare.

You can also watch these short videos:

How to use Clearing

How to call a university

Additionally you can join a TikTok live session from UCAS on Wednesday 13th August at 4.00pm for real-time advice and support.

A reminder of our advice:

  • Don’t panic if you open your results and you haven’t met the grades for your chosen course. At 8.00am you can log into UCAS Track to see if you have been accepted or if you need to take any action through clearing. You may have been accepted or offered an alternative course even if you missed the conditions of your offer.
  • If you are not in Clearing but you have changed your mind about a university then you can click the ‘Decline My Place’ button to self-release into clearing. Make sure you are certain as this cannot be undone. Call another university first to confirm if they will accept you through clearing.
  • Don’t decline your place if you just want to change course but stay at the same university- call them up as the university may be able to sort this without the need for clearing.
  • You can also use Clearing Plus by clicking ‘View Matches’ in your UCAS Hub to see any suggested courses in Clearing that are similar to those you originally applied for.

Until then, try not to worry too much – we will be here to help you.
