At Barr Beacon School, we couldn’t be prouder of our school community. We come together to celebrate success throughout the year, but this year, in addition to all the exciting opportunities on offer, we have united with all schools in Matrix Academy Trust to support Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Our school community has wholeheartedly backed this charity in a number of ways, including a community sports event that raised £385 and charity collection jars that brought in over £625. But we didn’t stop there!

We also wanted to bring our community together through our house system by organising a walk up each house hill — a smaller version of the Matrix Staff 3 Peaks Challenge. Forty successful applicants joined their Head of House to climb Clent, Bredon, Wrekin or Malvern. Braving high temperatures, our pupils raised over £6,000 through this challenge alone.

Fundraising is still going strong. What a wonderful display of community spirit in support of a great cause!
