The event kicked off with a fun “Guess the Chocolate” round, followed by the amusing “Taller Than Ball” challenge, which had staff laughing as they compared height of random objects with the 5ft 6 inch Mr Ball!  One of the highlights of the event was the music round, brilliantly delivered by the Mc Lauries, which proved a hit with everyone involved.

Competition was fierce throughout the event, with teams battling it out across a range of creative rounds. In a closely contested finish, Mr Watson triumphed in the “Come Fly With Me” paper aeroplane challenge, narrowly beating Mr Dawes.

The quiz was a great success, bringing staff together for fun and laughter

The staff room now includes a new microwave and kettle, making it easier for staff to prepare meals and hot drinks.

A new book exchange has also been introduced in the staff room area, offering staff the opportunity to share and borrow books. This initiative encourages staff to take time for themselves and enjoy a quiet moment of reading during their lunch breaks. Staff have already responded positively to the changes, highlighting “how quick their lunch now heats up ! “

The menu included fresh fruit, yoghurt, and a variety of hot sausage sandwiches, alongside freshly baked chocolate croissants that proved especially popular. The combination of healthy options and comforting treats created a balanced and enjoyable start to the day.

Working side by side, pupils shared ideas, stories, and artistic styles to produce individual pieces. Following the event, the artwork has now been transformed into signage and distributed to every school within the Trust. This means that each school now proudly displays a piece of the collective mural, ensuring that a small part of every school community is represented across all of our sites.

These displays are now proudly showcased in various locations around each school, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and the shared values that unite our Trust. The project not only produced beautiful artwork but also created lasting connections between pupils and schools, reinforcing the importance of belonging, respect, and community.

We are incredibly proud of all the pupils who took part and the creativity, teamwork, and thought they brought to this project. The pieces stand as a lasting symbol of the spirit of our Trust – many schools, one community.

The European Youth Parliament brings students together to debate the issues of our time. It is an apolitical, youth-led organisation active in over 33 countries across Europe. This debate competition aims to inspire and empower young people. 14 very brave students in Year 12, with aspirations to enter legal or political careers, entered the competition. They have been preparing their positions over several weeks and today faced spirited debate with schools from across the Midlands region.

Students were actively involved in all debates, but were particularly well prepared, and made impressive points around the motion for the Resolution of Childhood Hunger, tackling the challenges proposed by offering Free School Meals for all children. There was also a lively debate around the Committee on Transport for Tourism, with our teams defending the motion for stricter controls on short-term rentals and digital nomadism. Our students even stepped up and made last minute speeches to oppose open debates, pushing themselves out of their comfort zones. 

Both teams represented the school extremely well, putting a huge amount of effort into both their preparation before the event and their enthusiastic engagement on the day.

Huge congratulations to the winning team: Nathan, Millie, Jake, Vibha, Halima and Syed.

We are extremely proud of all of our participants and their conduct at the event and would also like to offer our congratulations to our wonderful participants:  Chanel, Sienna, Rabiya, Reandeep, Destiny, Tori, Saverah and Layla.

This year we are proud to be fundraising for Papyrus, a national charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.

Last year our school community raised over £7,000 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital to join a total of over £50,000 from the Trust and this year we’re aiming even higher!

We are encouraging every pupil to try and raise at least £10 in sponsorship. If we achieve this together, we could raise over £8,000 for this incredibly important cause.
